Putrajaya is a planned city, located south of Kuala Lumpur, an "Intelligent Garden City" and the federal administrative capital of Malaysia. The seat of government was shifted in 1999 from Kuala Lumpur due to the overcrowding and congestion there. Nevertheless, Kuala Lumpur remains as Malaysia's national capital and also as the commercial and financial centre. -wikipedia
Putrajaya was the brainshild of a former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad. It was made a Federal Territory, increasing the number of federal territories to three. Kuala Lumpur & Labuan are the other two.

Dataran Wawasan or Wawasan Square, is the first plaza marking the Northern end of the Putrajaya Boulevard.

Wawasan is one of the four squares embellishing the 100m x 4km Boulevard, the other three being Dataran Rakyat, Dataran Putrajaya and Dataran Gemilang.

The Putrajaya Boulevard, Dataran Rakyat and Dataran Wawasan are designed to be the focal points for ceremonial parades such as the Merdeka Day celebrations.

Dataran Wawasan is fronted by the Ministry of Finance building and is visible from the Putra Bridge.

The architectural styles transport you to various countries of the world, from Taj Mahal to Central American pyramids to some of the state of the art buildings.

Here are some of the great buildings with their own characteristic, having a special style and unique attractiveness, for you to enjoy looking and appreciating at beautiful encyclopedia of world architecture! Enjoy!

The Putrajaya Boulevard represents the continuum of Malaysia's history since Merdeka.

Commencing at Dataran Putra, it links the aspirations & objectives involved in building a visionary nation.

The boulevard must be first and foremost public, the design purpose beyond that of movement of vehicles and goods and more a place for people.

The Dataran or Square served as boundaries or as connections between areas of the city.

The Datarans are 'gateways' that stood symbolically on the ceremonial axis framed by the buildings.

The skyline of buildings and architectural features along the entire length of the boulevard are formed and punctuated in terms of the various heights of the buildings and the massing at each Dataran.

The tree-lined avenues along the boulevard provide shaded relief along the building line and a sense of an enclosure is created by the vaulted arches of trees, to reduce the buildings' mass to the human proportions at street level.

Water in the city can be an essential element of beauty in the urban structure and a focus of a vibrant urban life. The waterfront area offers the potential for leisure and tourism.

The Putrajaya Boulevard is one of the most distinctive feature of the city. The boulevard is lit with special ornamental lighting.

For the Malaysian tropical climate, the first priority must be to provide adequate shading. Shade trees mixed with park shelters and with weatherproof colonnades and canopies along the periphery, designed with the context of the bordering buildings.

The architecture, framework and intergrated landscape of the city is physically defined to frame a harmonious fusion of identifiable urban spaces and corridors.

As an emerging city, Putrajaya has the opportunity to plan the use of light selectively, creatively and appropriately throughout the entire external environment.

Hi Tuntung! ^_^ timer kasih utk komen sini.
Scene malam? Terus terang Bain katakan, Bain cuma pakai camera yg plaing basic je, digicam Sony Cybershot yg lama. camera tu tak sesuai utk scene malam. Bukan camera dslr. klik link ni utk tgk camera yg Bain pakai hingga sekarang ni:-

The clouds look a little too fake for me. But some pictures has nice angles. Just wish you could locate where the buildings are on the boulevard, cause i'm getting kinda confused.
