1Malaysia has described the spirit of unity and harmony among Malaysians. The existence of different types of school is very significant under the 1Malaysia concept as the country has a multi-racial society. Under the 1Malaysia concept, there is room for the co-existence of people from different races in schools.
The touch of High Dynamic Range's skills is exploring the harmony among the school children of
SK (L) Methodist, Kuala Lumpur.

The other kids wearing a classical Chinese attire which has been given a modern touch-the men's Kung-fu Tai-chi style or the men's long sleeve Mandarin shirt, others wearing a Chinese satin clothing, long sleeve shirt worn outside the trousers, light-weight trousers and informally, sandals for comfort. It is nicely woven with Chinese motif matched with trousers. These outfits are usually made from soft materials such as silk or satin.
The traditional clothing for Indian kids is the Dhoti or Vaeshtti in Tamil. It is also called Mundu. It is matched with a cotton cloth woven with gold thread. The kurta on the other hand matched with the simple materials, textures and designs.

An Independence Day is an annual celebration for the SK (L) Methodist Kuala Lumpur observing the anniversary of a nation's independent statehood. Students from all backgrounds, race and religion celebrate together in a harmonious way. This kind of special event is in conjunction with the concept of 1Malaysia, touted by the Prime Minister, Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak. And of course, I feel that the memorable day in SK (L) Methodist Kuala Lumpur promotes the unity of various social backgrounds and ethnicity in Malaysia.

Various activities and celebrations for special occasions are regularly organized by the teachers of SK (L) Methodist Kuala Lumpur. One of the special programs is Majlis Hari Anugerah Bestari 2009 which was held on 14 November 2009. It is a special day for an accolade or award to the best student of SK (L) Methodist Kuala Lumpur. It is celebrated every year. This is very good program and encouraging school children by showing that they truly value education themselves. Some benefits that measure the involvement in education include higher grades and test scores, long term academic achievement, positive attitudes and behavior, more successful programs and ultimately more effective educational system in school. Thus, 1Malaysia national philosophy based on mutual trust and respect between all communities can be successfully implemented.

Another program, National Day Celebration in SK (L) Methodist Kuala Lumpur has successfully organized by the teachers. Various programs for school children sparked the moments of sharing of culture and tradition during the celebration. It is a noble purpose, to foster unity and interaction among school children of all races, through activities such as traditional games, traditional costumes attire, traditional festivals and celebrations and etc.

All of them are wearing a different traditional costumes which represent a multi-races of traditional and cultures respectively. Some of them dressed in a Baju Melayu Cekak Musang matched with hand woven songket sarong with floral design and a headgear known as songkok.

As a true Malaysian, these kids are truly appreciate and feel the spirit of 1Malaysia, symbolizes freedom and unity among Malaysians. They thought that, living in the same country, a harmonious Malaysia should not just be defined as being independent, like they learned in history. It should constantly remind them that they are in charge of our country and responsible for its development. Indeed, they are the young generations that will lead the future of our country!
Traditional game of Congkak
The kids excitedly played congkak together. Congkak is unmatchable of the renowned traditional games in Malaysia. There are many people that like this game. There can be couple of mode to play congkak which the tool is extremely basic, utilizing only with some stones or guli (marble toy-a small spherical toy usually made from glass, clay or agate) as the tools. This traditional games of congkak help the player how to calculate and make strategies. These two kids (the player), is surrounded by other colleagues, fascinatingly waiting to know who will be the champion of the game!
Decorating a Rangoli a.k.a Kolam
The kids enjoyed decorating the Rangoli also known as Kolam, an intricate floral design on the ground, and the glow of lights, whether emitted from the traditional vilaku (oil lamp fashioned out of clay) or colorful candles brighten up celebration of the day. This event involved a various races among kids; Malay, Chinese, Indians and others, sharing a various cultures and traditions.
