Masjid Negara Kuala Lumpur

The Masjid Negara is the national mosque of Malaysia, located in Kuala Lumpur. It is Malaysia's principle mosque and one of the most prominent buildings in the city. The structure stands diagonally opposite the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station in a landscaped garden.

Reputed as one of the more beautiful mosques in South-east Asia, its modern design embodies a contemporary expression of traditional Islamic art, calligraphy and ornamentation.

The bright blue, jagged rooftop symbolises loyalty. Complementing it is the umbrella-shaped dome, with 18 points representing the 13 states of Malaysia and the 5 pillars of Islam.

Visitors are welcome but must be respectively dressed.

For this time, my skills in photography will let you watch the High Dynamic Range's effects by experience with joy and satisfaction! :)

Have a nice day ya! ^_^

Its key features are 73-metre-high minaret and an 18-pointed star concrete main roof.

1Malaysia
"Rakyat Didahulukan, Pencapaian Diutamakan"
"People First, Performance Now"

Originally built in 1965, it is a bold and modern approach in reinforced concrete,
symbolic of the aspirations of a then newly-independent Malaysia.

Absolutely beautiful photos of the mosque. Congrats Baincardin.

However, just need to update you on the info you provide,

The bright blue, jagged rooftop symbolises loyalty. Complementing it is the umbrella-shaped dome, with 18 points representing the 13 states of Malaysia and the 5 pillars of Islam.

is not accurate. There are no 18 points but only 16, and the original architects did not have those points in mind. They were probably made up by some foreign tour guides and somehow it became a'FACT'.

You can read about it at
